ARTIST
Wherever nature works there will be beauty.
-William Morris
I found my joy in childhood. For me, joy has always been blank paper and a pen. I am drawn to the creative process of what will manifest once the pen hits the paper. For me, there is something of the divine in the process.
I am drawn to form and structure. In nature, I am endlessly in awe of the magnificence of creation; in the details, the order, the patterns, and the profound beauty.
I continued my love of art as an Art History and Studio Art major in college. Studying art and creating art has been one of my life’s greatest joys. The only work more fulfilling, is sharing that passion with others while helping them create beautiful coherence in their own projects and lives.
Maps & Metaphor
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
-Thoreau
My love of maps is….beyond. I suppose you could call me a “cartographile.” I love maps and map making. Old maps, new maps, Google maps, USGA maps, topo maps, Rand McNally maps, amusement park maps. I love them all. I like seeing the big picture; the lay of the land. And of course, I love the details.
Mapping can involve much more than the cartographers interpretation of the land, it can involve mapping the details of an idea, the path to enlightenment or the steps in a process. Let me show you how to take your body of wisdom and build a map to teach the world and share your message.
Beautiful Branding
Art is too important not to share. -Romero Britto
I see words as images and love the process of helping others find the best representation of their personal or business brand. My goal is to connect the purpose or message with the product, business name, or tag line.
I enjoy the process of combing words and concepts in a visual representation.
Landscapes & Paintings
A simple line painted with the brush can
lead to freedom and happiness.
Joan Miro
I have always been drawn to form and it shows in my art. My paintings tend to be more representational than abstract -though, for me, painting and the application of color in the
re-presentation of the forms is an abstract process in itself.
It is one of my most challenging mediums yet one where I get much satisfaction in the end.
Nature is the art of God. - Dante Alighieri
I see things. I can’t help it. I find the world miraculous and finding the little clips of wonder is one of those "good distractions". I am generally in awe, and snap a photograph out of reverence for its brilliant creation. Color, light, shadow, space, movement, grace, patterns, form, wonder. Our Creator is in the details and catching a glimpse of the divine is like a treasure hunt.
Recipes
HAND DRAWN & PHOTOGRAPHICALLY ILLUSTRATED
A picture is worth a thousand words.
I love to cook, yet I don't know about you, but when I read a recipe, I end up reading it at least 15 times to follow along because I get lost in the language. Ultimately, I wind up annotating my cookbooks and recipes with images.
Words and images. Words and images.
I find that breaking down the steps in recipes and guides by combing the words with images is more engaging and efficient.
Success and satisfaction is the goal.
Cards & Invitations
SHARE THE LOVE WITH PERSONAL HAND DRAWN CARDS & INVITATIONS
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
-Edgar Degas
In a rush-rush world, taking the time to create something personal is an incredible gift. The perfect card or invitation creates a feeling that intimately connects the giver and the receiver; a connection commercial cards could never garner.
It is a soul-to-soul connection through images centered around celebrating that relationship and personal victories.
For decades I have loved creating personal cards and invites for the beautiful people in my life and now I a happy to share that love with the beautiful people in your life.
